The LTC3110 is a supercapacitor charger, similar to the LTC3128, except with bi-directional topology and added backup capability. The primary differences between the LTC3110 and the LTC3128 are: backup capability present on LTC3110 due to its bi-directional architecture, lower charge current of 2A vs 3A, lower supercap charging voltage of 0.1V vs. 1.8V, and lower quiescent current. The automatic cell balancer on the LTC3110 is a linear Op-Amp based type vs. an inductive-based type used on the LTC3128, no PowerGood but LTC3128 has that feature, Lower maximum input/SYS voltage of 5.25V vs 5.5V on LTC3128, and Slightly smaller QFN footprint/package of 4mm x 4mm vs 4mm x 5mm.
