In summary, Amphenol PT connectors are a family of miniature cylindrical connectors, qualified to Mil-C-26482 Series 1, and intended for use in general duty applications. The connector shells are made of machined or die cast aluminum; and the contacts are machined low loss copper which has been gold plated. A variety of contact insert arrangements are available and these arrangements can be positioned in the housing in one of four positions to prevent improper connection. Additionally, the contacts are sized for wire gauges from 20 AWG to 12 AWG and are either solder or crimp type terminations, with maximum current ratings of 7.5A to 23A depending on the contact and shell size. Also, the PT series is environmentally sealed and capable of operating in a temperature range of -55ºC to +125ºC. Finally, the life expectancy of the PT series quarter-turn connectors is greater than five hundred mating cycles.
