Dust sensors detect dust by utilizing the Light-Scattering Particular Detection Principle, which is based on the Mie Theory. Mie scattering occurs when the diameters of the atmospheric particulates are similar to the wavelengths of the scattered light. The light scatter signal is received inside the dust sensor by the photo sensor. It is then amplified and processed.
