LVDS places particular demands on cable and attention should be paid to the choice and construction of cable for optimum performance. For cable distances of less than half a meter, most cable types can be made to work effectively to a greater or lesser extent. For distances greater than a half a meter but less than 10 meters, twisted pair cable works well. Further, it is readily available and cost effective. Other types of cables, such as twin-ax cables built from separate shielded pairs, may also be used as required by the needs of a specific application.
