DAC8760 Slide 3

The DAC8760/DAC7760 are integrated DACs with 11 software programmable voltage and current output ranges. There are 3 programmable current ranges and 4 programmable voltage ranges. The voltage ranges have a 10% over-range feature that covers another 4 ranges and can output up to +/-11 V. The Total Unadjusted Error specification, or TUE, is the worst case deviation from the ideal device performance. The DAC8760 family has a Total Unadjusted Error spec of 0.1% FSR for voltage output modes which reduces the need for calibration and saves time and cost for customers. The internal reference has accuracy of 10 ppm/0C max, making the products extremely well suited for environments where the temperature can greatly change, but system performance needs to remain high. Speaking of temperature, the DAC8760 family operates on the full extended industrial temperature range of -40oC to 125oC. It has helpful on chip diagnostic features that will send an alarm command with three different types of faults: 1- if the output experiences an open circuit event which is common if the wire leads are cut or broken, second is if the temperature of the device is exceeding its conditions, and third is if the current output reaches saturation or compliance voltage. It also has a cyclic redundancy check, or CRC, and a watchdog timer that increases system reliability. It has a dedicated HART pin that allows customers to easily couple the HART signal. The family of devices are all available in two package options, 40-QFN and 24-TSSOP packages.
