Amphenol’s Ultraport SlimSAS™ takes everything that made the previous generation and advanced it to a new level. It addresses issues in next generation storage devices such as bulk cable form factor restrictions and the introduction of multi-lane storage devices. The interconnect system comprises a 74 or 38 position, 0.6 mm pitch receptacle designed per the SFF-8654 specification for unshielded I/O connectors. It is capable of data rates up to 24 Gbps and compliant with T10/Serial Attached SCSI (24 Gbps SAS-4) standards. The sleek, continuous design was created from previous generations and fits most boards making it a very diverse connector and consumes the same area as the Mini-SAS HD 4x.
